Circumstances found on arrival, actions taken: Upon arrival a fire was found burning in grass, brush, and Juniper trees. The fire threatened several residences in the area of SW Cinder Drive and SW Peninsula Drive and was spreading to several stacks of lumber and a horse trailer on one property in the 12600 block of SW Cinder Drive. Fire crews began extinguishing the fire around the lumber and horse trailer. As more fire resources arrived on-scene they began containing the fire using progressive hose lays. The fire was contained at approximately 3:51 PM and crews remained on-scene mopping up and building a fireline around the fire until approximately 5:47 PM.
Injuries, rescues and other information of interest: 9-1-1 received multiple calls reporting smoke and a possible brush fire in the 13400 block of SW Peninsula Drive which is directly to the east of where the fire was located. No structures were damaged by the fire. The horse trailer sustained heat damage from the fire. There were two properties that sustained wildfire damage in the 12600 block of SW Cinder Drive. No one was at either home when the fires were reported. One homeowner returned home while firefighting efforts were underway. The other property owner was out of the area and notified by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office of the incident. The fire was contained at ⅓ of an acre despite erratic winds and hot conditions.

Probable fire cause: The cause of the fire is under investigation.
